Stripe Instructions

In this instruciton we will show you how to create an Stripe account and connect with KaChick iOS so you can start earning by your photography skill!

STEP 1
Connect with Stripe

Under “More” tab, go to “Payment Settings” and click “Connect with Stripe”.

STEP 2
Stripe Account Signup

If you already have a Stripe account, simply sign in. If not, follow through the steps below.

STEP 3
Create a Stripe Account

Select “Hong Kong” as your base country to receive your payment in HKD. Type "Photography & videography" in your business description. Fill in "www.KaChick.com" as your business website.

STEP 4
Business Information

Select “Individual / Sole Proprietorship” for your business type. While “Registration number” is optional, type your home address if you don’t have a “Business address”.

STEP 5
Personal Information

Fill in all your personal details. Make sure your legal name matches the one on your bank account. After that, under Credit card statement details section, type “www.KaChick.com” as your business name. On our platform, Stripe will be the party that handles your personal information. The scope of details required may vary depending on the region you are at.

STEP 6
Bank Information and Password

Next up is your bank details. This section is particularly important as Stripe will auto pay into your bank account, so make sure to fill in correct information!

Enter your bank code, branch code (the first 3 digits of your account number) and your account number. You can find this information on your ATM card or online banking portal.

When filling in your account number, remember to use the format “XXXXXX-XXX”. The “-” between the numbers is a must! If your bank account number doesn’t have 9 digits, you can use “XXXXXX-X” or ”XXXXXX-XX” instead.

Banks that are supported by Stripe include:

  • The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) (Bank Code: 004)
  • OCBC Wing Hang Bank (Bank Code: 035 or 044)
  • Hang Seng Bank (Bank Code: 024)
  • China CITIC Bank International (Bank Code: 018 or 051)
  • Citibank (Hong Kong) (Bank Code: 250)
  • Bank of East Asia (Bank Code: 015)
  • Bank of China (Bank Code: 012, 014, 019, 026, 030, 031, 033, 036, 064 or 070)
  • Standard Chartered (Bank Code: 003)

P.S. Clearing code is just another name for Bank code, so inputting your clearing code to the bank code field will work.

If you are still unsure about your bank code and branch code, you can make an inquiry at your bank branch or on its website, or even give a call to the customer service hotline at the back of your ATM card.

Below is a demonstration using a Hang Seng Bank and Bank of China account, respectively.

Example Hang Seng Bank ATM card number: 200 123456 789

The bank code of Hang Seng Bank is “024”. The first 3 digits on your ATM card, “200” in this case, is your branch code. The remaining numbers “123456-789” is your account number. Note that in Stripe’s registration form, you’ll have to type “-” in between the space.

Example Bank of China ATM card number: 012 933 4 567890 1

For Bank of China, its bank code “012” is already shown on the ATM card. The next 3 digits that follow, “933” in this case, is your branch code. “ 4 567890 1” Similarly, remember to input according to Stripe’s format. Enter the first 6 digits, include “-”, and the remaining digits follow. Therefore, we will enter “456789-01” for this account number.

Lastly, Input the email and password you want to use for Stripe Dashboard login to manage your future transactions.

Successfully Connected

You should by now have received an email from Stripe. Activate your account and start accepting customers’ payment automatically! Check out the link to find out more: https://stripe.com/about.
